Q: Do I need to be a developer or designer to join?

A: Nope! You just need a desire to make our community better. We draw upon the expertise of a wide range of professional and personal experience so all knowledge is welcome.

Q: What are the benefits of joining?

A: We feel the strongest benefit to joining Code for Asheville is the fulfillment and joy that is experienced when finding success while working in a team environment with a common goal. We also learn a lot from each other with our projects and initiatives, which helps us apply knowledge and group based work sensibilities in other facets of our lives.

Q: Are there fees or membership dues?

A: Nope, code for Asheville is free to join and participate!

Q: What kind of projects do you work on?

A: It depends on what is the most pressing issue at the time. We allow our members freedom to innovate and work on any project they desire, as long as it is proposed within the group. For some examples check out our project page.

Q: What kind of events do you have?

A: We host hack-nights every other Tuesday (usually) and Hackathons every so often (typically once a quarter).
